Estimated dates: 18th June-25th June Arraial Lisboa Pride, is the largest LGBTI event in Portugal packed with over 100,000 visitors each year. The first gay pride march took place in Lisbon in 1999, since then it has become an annual event. There is so much to celebrate in the queer scene in Portugal and yet so much needs to be highlighted due to the various issues and injustices that still affect the LGBTQ+ community. Since the Carnation Revolution in 1974 (a bloodless revolution that ended the country's military dictatorship). Portuguese society has become more progressive and open-minded LGBTQ_+ issues.
